Cry it out isn’t the only way
Some consultants stay in the room and settle slowly over a few weeks. Others use timed check-ins and get there sooner. Most will build a plan around how you feed, where your child sleeps and what they’re like.
Every listing says how that consultant works, so you can find someone who fits your family and your values. Whichever way you lean, nobody here will judge you for it.
Not sure which suits you? Tell us about your nights and we’ll send a shortlist of up to three. Curious about the research? What the Australian studies found.

Questions parents ask us
Is a sleep consultant worth it?
It depends on what’s going on and what you’ve already tried. Plenty of families get there with free help first, from a child health nurse or a parent helpline. A consultant makes sense when you want a plan built around your child, and someone checking in while you stick with it. Free sleep help in Australia, and when a consultant is worth it.
How much does a baby sleep consultant cost?
It depends on what’s included: a phone or video call, a home visit, a written plan, or a week or two of follow-up. Consultants who’ve claimed their listing show their packages and prices on it, so you can compare before you get in touch. Using this site costs you nothing.
Will it involve leaving my child to cry?
Not unless you want it to. Many consultants work in a responsive way, staying close and reducing help slowly. Others use timed check-ins. Each listing says how that consultant works, and a good consultant will build the plan around what you’re comfortable with.
Can a consultant help with a young baby?
Many see newborns. With young babies the help is usually about feeding, tired signs, settling and safe sleep rather than a training plan. Red Nose recommends your baby sleeps in your room for at least the first 6 months.
Do you check the consultants?
We show what’s public, which is Google ratings and reviews linked back to Google, plus whatever a consultant adds when they claim their listing. We check every listing against Google Maps each week and hide businesses that have closed. We don’t check qualifications, so ask about training and certification when you get in touch.
Do I pay you anything?
No, parents never pay us. We earn from consultants who pay for a Featured spot. Featured spots are always labelled “Featured · paid placement”, and they never change the ranking.

Is it a sleep regression? What's actually going on at 4 months, 18 months and 2 years
Probably not a regression in the sense of going backwards. Raising Children Network says "regression" isn't a good word for what are normal developmental changes, and large datasets show no single month with a spike in sleep problems. New skills like sitting, crawling and walking can bring a few weeks of extra night waking, and bedtime resistance often peaks around 18 months.
